Shower conquered.

When I posted about the vacuum, I forgot to post about Emma's newest feat. About a month or so ago she conquered her fear of the shower. Now she is even trying to wash her own hair. Big Girl! (of course we still love the bathtub too)

Atlantis Lift Off.

The Shuttle Atlantis lifted off today just after 2pm. Destination, Hubble telescope. Emma and I drove over to Titusville to watch it in person. (Titusville is the closest "real city" to the space station.) A bit of a whim decision but glad we made the trip. It took us about 45 minutes to get there. People were just stopping their cars along US 1 and setting up lawn chairs and cameras. With 45 minutes until lift off, ALOT of people showed up. I think all traffic/pedistrian laws were temporarily suspended. People were everywhere. There was not an official site to stand so people stood wherever they could get a view. I am pretty sure this body of water of Indian Bay and we were directly looking at the launch pad. I was so sad I forgot my binoculars....like I said earlier, it was a whim.
Lift off.

After this pic the shuttle was lost in the clouds. There was complete silience initially, but approx 1 minutes after lift off we heard the booming noise. That was pretty neat. The whole crowd cheered. Luckily we were by some very nice retirees who liked entertaining Emma (or she was entertaining them). I knew we would not be getting any upclose looks at the shuttle (actually TV is better) but I was curious what the atmosphere was like over there, espeically since the number of launches are counted. This was the last mission to Hubble.

Mother's Day.

We decided to venture to Sea World for Mother's day (and an extended celebration of Emma's birthday). Thanks to Papaw and Mimi and we have a 2009 pass to Sea World. (hint, you may see future posts from Sea World)

We were able to see some flamingos up close. They were walking through the park!! Two park employees escorted this flock. I never knew you could "walk" a flamingo.

During the manatee exhibit, Emma kept saying "move faster." She was a little perplexed at how slow they moved. Of course she wondered "why?"

Cooling off. We found the kid's section of the park and they have a little water park. Emma enjoyed dipping her head in.

Birthday Girl.

Emma turned 3 last Friday. She had a good time opening all her presents and she really liked her birthday balloons.

Cooling off.

We tried a new water park about 10 mintues from our house in Oviedo. I was very hapy to find this one, especially since it has been in the 90's everday this past week. Welcome summertime!

Vacuum conquered.

Emma had a slight fear of the vacuum for a while but a few weeks ago she finally decided to get in on some of the action.

Emma meets Shamu.

For Easter weekend we took a trip to SeaWorld. Emma loved seeing all the animals.

Waiting for Shamu to begin, in the 'No Splash' zone.
Yikes. Shark encounter.
