Go Knights!

Football is here!!! Despite the rainy weather, Emma and I cheered on the Knights with our cousin Dolores. Emma loves the big crowds and made many new friends with all the people around us. She especially liked seeing the mascot "Knightro" walk around. Yes...we did jump to 'Zombie nation.' In case you are not familiar with 'Zombie Nation', check it out...

A new park adventure

We drove across town to visit a new park. This one has a splash area with a variety of water spouts and water mist/sprayer things (for lack of proper terminology). Emma was very UNSURE about the splash area so we just observed from the outside for a while.
While still deciding on the water, we visited the more traditional areas of the park.
Now we are getting a little more brave.
Finally!!! She is soaked in this picture (I am too). Once she tried it a few times (of course I had to run with her) I couldn't get her to leave. Thankfully I had an extra set of clothes in the car. While I don't have a picture of the dog park portion, Emma really enjoyed that also. I am sure we will return here...except next time with our swim suits.

Blond Ambition

Emma received a disney princess set from Paul & Dolores. While she enjoyed the wig and crown...she really liked the gloves and sequined purse.

Fay Day

Emma meets Fay. Phil and I are pretty sure this was Emma's first tropical disturbance. She has started to like the rain more that she now has her own umbrella. We took advantage of the calm rain storm on Wednesday morning and went for a walk to burn some energy. We were lucky enough to see the garbage truck and TWO Fed Ex trucks. A very exciting walk.

The rest of Wednesday (...still raining) was spent indoors trying to keep busy with all sorts of projects.

In the kitchen again

After watching me wash many dishes, Emma decided she wanted a shot at it. She would scrub a little, rinse a little and attempt to put them on the drying rack. After she went to bed I went back and cleaned them again (just in case).

Yes, that is a knife in the picture. I quickly moved it while she started to get soap. She wanted to clean everything she could get her hands on.

The Park

One of the parks that we visit is only about 10 minutes from our house. yeah!

The afternoon rain cut our playtime short but Emma thought it was pretty funny. (She used to be pretty scared to get wet by the rain so this was a welcomed change.)

The ever present...

ELMO!!! He the leader of the gang. Emma is out taking a few of her friends for a walk. This is Big Elmo and he is included in almost all activities. Along for this ride is also Big Baby. The other two members of her gang are Little Elmo and Little Baby. She refers to these 4 as 'everybody.'

AHHHHH!

After enjoying a blue popsicle, Emma was very excited to show off her blue tongue and look at herself in the mirror. Her Fav popsicle flavor...you guessed it..."blue."

L8tr Sk8tr

Emma got to try out her mad cart skills the other day. (The store was VERY empty AND Phil was pushing the cart, go figure.)

Chef Emma

A lesson in cutting with a VERY dull butter knife and a VERY thin piece of yellow squash. She was a good helper (while staying very preoccupied) during our dinner prep tonight. There may have been more mashing than cutting going on...but hey, you gotta start somewhere. Johnson & Wales class of 2028?

Yard Day

" Whoa! How does this thing work?"

"Ahhh...this is more like it."
Phil was mowing and I was helping clean up the yard...Emma was supervising.

Beach Burrito

Emma thinks it is fun to get swaddled up like a baby again. However, since she is so big now I think she is more of a burrito figure. She trys to run, more of a shuffle, around the house like this (giggling to whole time).

Monkey Joe's

The BIG slide. I had to ride with Emma down this one.
We also found some "Emma size" slides.

One corner of Monkey joe's.

Emma and I ventured to Monkey Joe's this week to beat the summer heat. She is still small enough that I had to go with her into most of the play areas. After about 2 hours of climbing, sliding and jumping, we were both ready for a nap!

Fun in the Garden

As usual, Emma is drawn to anything the color
pink or red.
She carried one small pink flower around all day
until it practically disintegrated in her sweaty little palm.

"Turtles! Turtles, mommy!"

Emma and I went to visit the Harry P. Leu Botanical Garden here in beautiful Orlando. We saw many plants and flowers of all shapes and sizes. She really enjoyed the butterfly garden and the lake. Although it was a bit warm today there were many shaded trails to walk through.

Water Day

When the rain began Emma headed straight
for the door and started say "Come on mommy.
Bye bye school." The rain soon stopped and we
attempted to get back out and play. She was not
real excited about the waterguns.

The "Summer Gang" ages 2-5. (There are a few kids
missing that go home at 11am.) Yes, that is Emma
NOT standing in line. She got a little distracted
trying to get her shoes off and appeared
a little later than everyone else. What a troublemaker.
